Thomas W. Mitchell, a partner with Klores Perry Mitchell, represents individuals and businesses who have suffered serious injuries from the intentional and negligent acts of others.  He has successfully tried dozens of cases to verdict, and secured favorable settlements in numerous other matters.

A trial lawyer in the Washington, D.C. area for his entire career, Mr. Mitchell is committed to resolving disputes and, if needed, trying cases to successful verdicts for his clients.  His practice has always been trial work, representing businesses harmed by unlawful commercial conduct, business executives injured in partnership, investment, and intellectual property disputes, and patients injured by the medical malpractice of doctors, nurses, hospitals and other healthcare providers.  He has represented clients in catastrophic injury cases, involving automotive or trucking accidents, dangerous or defective products, government and police misconduct, and landowner negligence.

Mr. Mitchell has experience both prosecuting and defending against claims for clients.  He understands what it takes to win on both sides of any case, and embraces complex litigation challenges to obtain the results that the client desires.  By combining his more recent experience and successes as a trial lawyer for individuals, Mr. Mitchell understands how to apply those principles in business litigation, where efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and a successful result are paramount.  With case strategy focused on obtaining favorable results – not fees – Mr. Mitchell and his Firm can quickly and efficiently settle or try cases to successful resolution.

Mr. Mitchell graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1988, and served on the staff and as Associate Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal.  He then clerked for the Honorable Fred B. Ugast, Chief Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.  Prior to joining Klores Perry Mitchell, he was a partner in the Washington, D.C. firm of Collier Shannon Rill & Scott, and before then was an attorney at Shaw Pittman Potts & Trowbridge.

Mr. Mitchell is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and New York.  He is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the American Bar Association.
