Bruce J. Klores, founding partner of Klores Perry Mitchell, has been a trial lawyer for over 30 years and is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and International Academy of Trial Lawyers, organizations that limit memberships to the top 1% of trial lawyers in North America.  Mr. Klores represents victims and families of medical negligence and other catastrophic injuries, having achieved verdicts and settlements totaling well over $250 million. The firm's highly regarded, well-established medical malpractice work has a track record of success that corresponds directly to Mr. Klores' ability to successfully try business-to-business litigation cases efficiently and with predictability of fees.

Dedicated to the underdog, Mr. Klores advocates on behalf of his clients to protect their rights before the U.S. Congress, D.C. City Council and other legislative bodies. Mr. Klores has worked tirelessly to revise and rewrite laws that affect his clients' ability to pursue justice in the courtroom.

Mr. Klores firmly believes that reputation is earned by hard work, discipline and integrity. As a firm renowned for understanding what it takes to win and advocate on behalf of its clients, it is often former clients, physicians, other lawyers, judges and even hospital risk managers that refer matters to the firm.  The firm focuses on trusted relationships, not commercial marketing and television advertising.   Whether medical malpractice, professional negligence or business-to-business litigation, Mr. Klores stays closely involved with each case and plays an integral role in its prosecution.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Klores held a variety of jobs, ranging from teaching high school social studies and coaching basketball in rural Maine, to selling hot dogs at the Statue of Liberty.  These instructive, rewarding and fun posts fed Mr. Klores' passion for helping others, which soon led to the formation of his own firm.  In 1983, with just one case, Mr. Klores opened Bruce J. Klores & Associates in a brownstone basement office in the building his firm now occupies in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C.  Thirty years later, Mr. Klores still embraces each case and client matter with the same enthusiasm and commitment to helping others.

Mr. Klores and his firm are committed to fostering the quality of life for those who work in the firm and for those who live in the Washington, D.C. area.  In 2002, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia awarded the law firm the "Quality of Life Award," recognizing the firm's treatment of all its employees.  In 2001, the United Planning Organization awarded the firm the prestigious "Martin Luther King, Jr. Corporate Community Service Award" for its work with disadvantaged children.  Prior awardees of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award were corporate giants such as PEPCO and Safeway.

Mr. Klores is a frequent speaker, writer and instructor in the field of trial practice, medical malpractice and business litigation, often sharing his insight with colleagues and with students as an adjunct professor of law at his alma mater, Catholic University.  He also chairs the popular "Medicine for Lawyers" program and works closely with some of the finest physicians throughout the country in order to achieve the best result for his clients.

He is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia and is a member and Past President of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C.

Mr. Klores has been married to the former Irene Patellis, a former professional ballet dancer, since 1984.  The Klores family is blessed to have 21-year-old twins, Steven and Molly.
